Trip to Leighton Moss
Year 2 enjoyed their trip to Leighton Moss Nature Reserve, which was linked to the science topic, ‘Living Things and thair Habitats’.
Pond Dipping
The children found lots of amazing minibeasts lurking beneath the surface of the water, which they then identified.
Minibeast Hunt
During our minibeast hunt, we got up close to nature, using our observational skills to find and identify different minibeasts.
Beautiful Birds
We also found out lots of information about birds. We looked at different nests and feathers, went to the hide out to look at the birds in their natural habitats and by the end of the activity we could identify many common birds and their songs.
Creation Week
Year 2 have been learning about creation and how God has chosen us to care for his world. We have looked at the nature around us and seen how God created all trees differently, just like you and me. We have created art work, taken pictures and gathered items on our nature walks.
30 He (Jesus) also said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
M 4: 30-32
