Year 6 Class Page
Today Y6 enjoyed a fantastic survival themed activity day led by South West Survival.
We took part in team games activities, natural shelter building, emergency shelter building, ration packs/ cooking emergency food supplies, fire making and lighting techniques, natural weapons and camouflage and concealment.
We even got to toast marshmallows on the campfires we had built and lit ourselves!
As our Music topic this half term, we have been focusing on the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrel Williams. We have learnt to sing the song, created our own instrumental section using the glockenspiels and learnt to play the melody of the song on the glockenspiels. A video of our final performance will be posted next week!
Anglo Saxon Homes
As part of our History topic learning, the Y6 pupils have made model Anglo Saxon homes. We can’t wait to see the finished designs and enojy a museum afternoon on Friday! Watch out for photos coming soon…
BATTLE OF THE BEAKS!
On Monday Year 6 enjoyed a ‘Science Day’. We were investigating how the shape of different bird beaks affects which types of food the bird is best at eating. This infomation helped us to understand the links that Charles Darwin made between the different types of finches on the Galapagos Islands.
