Take your victories, whatever they may be, cherish them, use them, but don’t settle for them.

Our PE Curriculum
Intent
It is our intent at Our Lady and Saint Edward’s to teach children life skills that will positively impact on their future. We aim to deliver quality teaching and learning opportunities that inspire all children to succeed in physical activities. We place great emphasis on the teaching of the Fundamental Movement Skills that underpin children’s success and participation in team games. We want to teach children how to cooperate and collaborate with others, as part of a team, and to embed the life-long values of fairness, respect, hard work and resilience.
Implementation
At Our Lady and Saint Edward’s, we participate in twice weekly PE and sporting activities. Our PE programme incorporates a variety of sporting activities to ensure all children develop the necessary confidence and skills for future participation in a more healthy and active lifestyle. Specialist staff work alongside teachers in specific areas of our PE curriculum to promote quality teaching and learning experiences. We provide opportunities, for children across all year groups, to engage in extra-curricular activities during and after school, in addition to a wealth of inter-school competition through the School Sports Partnership programme.
Impact
Quite simply, we strive to motivate our children to apply their knowledge, skills and values in an independent and positive way in order to lead happy and healthy lives.
